15mm Wide Angle & High-Power 8x Zoom

The 15mm wide end is the widest angle of the CINE-SERVO series. Fit more into the shot even when space is limited. The high-magnification 8x zoom and built-in 1.5x extender also achieve a maximum of 180mm at the telephoto end.

The CN8X15 IAS offers a wide range of focal lengths in a single lens while achieving high optical performance and cinematic image expression.

High resolution and warm colour tones

Large diameter aspheric lens and anomalous dispersion glass have been adopted to offer sharp imaging and high contrast from the center of the image to the outer edges. EF Cinema Lens colour reproduction has been made consistent throughout the series, with a design that unifies the balance for warm colours to beautifully reproduce skin tones. The multiple-blade iris diaphragm with 11 blades produces natural blur effects closer to a circle.

The lens supports wide-ranging communication standards including 12 pin serial support and EF mount protocol support (EF Mount only). When attached to a Cinema EOS System camera* Dual Pixel CMOS  AF and Dual Pixel Focus Guide can be used. The PL mount version of the lens supports the industry-standard Cooke/iTechnology and eXtendedData communication. This contributes to saving workflow time and cost from production to post.

When using the 1.5x extender, the F no. becomes darker by one stop (toward a deeper depth of field). However, the focal length is shifted to the tele side (toward a shallower depth of field), so the resulting the depth of field remains at the same level as when using Super 35mm.
