Australian alliance Agender, a platform for change for female photographers, returns in 2019 to launch its second annual photographic exhibition, Balance for Better. On show at SUNSTUDIOS Sydney from March 9 –31 for International Women’s Day.
The exhibition is based on the 2019 International Womens Day theme #balanceforbetter, and this year has doubled in size to showcase the talent of 22 of Australia’s most succesful and talented female photographers, while drawing attention to the inequality in pay and diversity that affects the industry.
Artworks are for sale with 50% of the profits going to Sydney Women’s Fund.
“Agender is a celebration of the great talent, wisdom and experience of female photographers. At the same time, our aim is to create new pathways for women at the start of their careers, and central to that is addressing the inequality in pay, diversity and opportunities given to women in the industry,” said Agender co-founder Cybele Malinowski.

“Balance is the answer in all aspects of our lives. I love to see work by both women and men as sometimes we have a different way of viewing the world. That difference should be celebrated and encouraged” said Leila Jeffreys.
The Balance for Better exhibition at SUNSTUDIOS Sydney is open to the public from March 9 – 31.
