The Broncolor Edge Mask is an accessory for Broncolor Softboxes that easily mounts on the front of the Softbox via Velcro and functions as an additional diffuser.
The centre of the Edge Mask is completely dark rectangle, the light shines through the edges creating a frame of light that can be used to contour light around your subject. If you place the Softbox with the Edge Mask exactly behind your subject, the frame of light will illuminate the edge of your subject while the background stays black.
Use long lenses to avoid having the frame of light in your image. As the shape of most sensors is a rectangle the Edge Masks only exist for rectangular Softboxes.
