ABOUT THIS WORK

Australian Sea lion / Australia

Just a few metres underwater, at one of the last remaining Australian Sea Lion colonies, I got to share a beautiful moment with the local sea lions. I would drop underwater where they were exploring our bizarre fins, holding my breath as long as I could. We are both utilising our dive reflex - an evolutionary trait we both share. Australian Sea Lions breathe oxygen, just like us. They talk to each other, tease each other and collaborate with each other. Unfortunately, the Australian Sea Lions are one of the rarest in the world suffering from threats such as entanglement, marine debris and habitat destruction.

  • Standard/Large moulding profile is 27mm wide (frame face) x 37mm (frame height/depth).

Glazing

  • Our framing uses 70 UV protective gallery grade acrylic for maximum clarity and resilience.
